Last week I had the chance to catch up with and interview Kyle who is an old friend of mine. He is the singer and guitarist of Chicago based punk band Dog and Wolf. I had a blast hanging with Kyle as well as Nick the bass player for Dog and Wolf and also Becky and Margie who are Kyle's close friends and housemates (they also make a mean pot pie). I hope you all enjoy the portraits of Kyle as well as the very casual interview. Unfortunately the second camera angle during the interview portion got messed up and while we discussed reshooting, in the end we decided to just keep it the way it was to preserve the genuine random and spontaneous reactions and stories that would not be able to be recreated a second time around. Be sure to stay tuned till the end of the video because Kyle tops everything off with an acoustic set!
Like I said before, this is my first endeavor into video so I am still learning and growing from every experience. Every time I watch a video I have made I see things I could have changed to make it better but that is how we grow. Also, if I keep going back and changing every little thing, I would never be able to get any content out to you all! As always, if you have any questions or comments please leave them here or reach out to me at any of the places listed below. I always appreciate tips from experienced individuals. In fact, while recording Kyle's acoustic set I had my two cameras set at static angles and Nick (who graduated with a degree in videography) suggested I hand hold one of them. So I took the plunge and hand held a camera. Even though it was far from perfect, I do think it gave the video more excitement and feeling over how it would have been with just two static angles. What do you think?
