Presenting the Canon A-1, my first camera.
Above is the first camera I owned. It was handed down to me by my father (when I was about 10 years old) once he purchased a new camera (that I also own from when he upgraded to digital). This is an awesome camera and I honestly knew nothing about it at the time I was using it. The beauty in the A-1 is all the manual dials. I did not appreciate it back then but I do now. Having manual dials makes you really think about your settings and get them dialed in instead of just shooting first and fixing later. On the camera body you see a canon 50mm 1.4 lens. That is an awesome lens! I did not get a lens this fast until relatively recently when I purchased a 50mm 1.4 lens for my current dslr. Honestly, I do not know how I even got usable photos from this camera back when I first inherited it because I really knew nothing but I am glad I did get some keepers and I guess it sparked something to lead me to where I am now.
I love keeping my old cameras around me because it reminds me of all the memories I have created with them.
Until next time.
